FAQ

Q: We’ve been listening to the Buff video for years!

A: Yes and this adds a new free dimension to your in store entertainment. The Podzine in particular, is an audio magazine

created to inspire people to get out more no matter the weather. We include reviews of gear, magazines, web sites,

what’s on and interview many in the industry. Why not liven up your shop and play them? See what people say,

after all this costs nothing and doesn’t require a PRS license.

Q: These podcasts are great but what can I do with them in my shop?

A: These podcasts are released Royalty Free and you don’t need any license from PRS to play them in your shop.

All audio has been cleared for this purpose. So please play them as background entertainment for your customers

and staff. There’s plenty of information in there to encourage people to ask about different products.

Q: Okay so how do I do that then?

A: There are various ways your customers can hear them. You could plug the computer speakers into the computer

audio socket and play them directly off the screen. You could download them using the ‘download’ button and play

them off your PC or portable media player through the shop PA system. You could burn them to CD as audio or MP3

files play them off a normal DVD player into your sound system. They really are that simple to use.

Q: Does this movie or audio podcast hyperlink my audience away from my web site?

A: Simply put, no! The podcasts are designed to add interesting multimedia content to your site for your audience.

Q: Do they effect the bandwidth in my website, blog site and add cost implications to me or my audience?

A: No, the media is being streamed from another server, so your site is merely a ‘window’. There are no cost implications to you or your audience.

Q: I’m a retailer. Do the podcasts mention other retailers in competition to me?

A: Certain ‘sponsored’ podcasts are provided by the trade who wish to support your activities and promote their products. (These are clearly stated at the beginning of each program) No retailer is promoted above any other. The ‘independent’ podcasts produced by TOS are more magazine in format and style so may mention websites or traders as part of the content.

Q: If I’m not paying for it and my audience isn’t paying for it, who is?

A: The sponsored podcasts are paid for by companies who wish to use this medium to back up information about their products or services. It could be technical or practical information they can’t deliver using traditional media methods.
