This is just a quick update podcast to let everyone know the reason for the delay in the release of new material and to prepare you for whats to come.

Firstly the Wild Camp Podcast series has had a bit of a stumble as I came down with Man Flu towards the end of March and the date to climb Scafell Pike passed us by in April as Ronald Turnbull suffered an injury forcing him to delay.

Then the backpackinglight Outdoor Show was suddenly upon us, which took a lot of planning and preparation plus general praying the weather would be kind. Which as it turned out it was!

Sadly it clashed with the Backpackers Club AGM and the London Marathon and so people were torn where to go. However we had great turn out and it was due credit to everyone, that our charity donations at the refreshments stand and the raffle raised just over £400 for the British Heart Foundation.

The night of the show, while we were enjoying a meal with the friends and family who had supported us on the day, my mate Lee causally mentioned that it was the start of the TGO Challenge next week! For some reason I was under the impression that I still had at least 2 weeks to prepare for this and so Rose and I were thrown into a panic over the Bank Holiday Weekend, sorting gear out and making changes.TGOC-2015-Route

All we have heard so far is ‘it’s snowing in Scotland’ and so packing has become a nightmare. Originally Rose was going with Sue and I was traveling solo, which meant that as Sue had now dropped out, the gear we had settled on was completely different to what we wanted to use this time.

Anyway, the decision have been made, the packs are now sorted and we fly first thing tomorrow mooring to arrive up at Glenelg around 8.30pm. It’s quicker to fly to Singapore!

So we are off for 2 weeks and here’s hoping it isn’t the same 10 days saturation as last time and we see some sunshine. The last TGOC Podcast we did was in 2011 and so we thought it was about time to update things and see how the event had changed if at all.

In nothing else it should make up for the last of Wild Camp Podcasts these last few weeks.

Wish us luck 🙂
