The Evernew Appalachian cookset and the Toaks Ti Cookset are two of the lightest complete cooking systems available today for lightweight hikers.
Although aimed at two slightly different markets, they both share the same aspirations and aims of a complete cook system which packs neatly inside a 500ml pot.
This video shows the products in detail and explains what you get for your money. Both products will appeal to general backpackers as well as the extreme athletes who use them on the Marathon des Sables.
The video is the first in a series recorded using the new video system with virtual studios, which will hopefully give us a better presentation in forthcoming productions.

The toaks looks interesting. I have not used esbits before. How long or what volume does one tablet cook for?

I only have little experience with Esbits however many of our BPL customers comment on this set and tell us it is ideal for bringing 450ml of water to the boil. If you want it to burn longer you just place another tablet on top of the first before you light it.
